Herbert Hatchback is not my real name.
Hi! My name is Daniel Lord. I live in Philadelphia, PA and I do watercolor illustrations.
I’ve always wanted to feel comfortable creating visual art. I’ve been a musician since I was young and I’m thankful for the amazing opportunities that provided me, but I was still always jealous of people who could paint/draw/etc.
A couple years ago I decided to finally do something about it. Inspired by old cars I’d see around Philadelphia, I started painting. At first my paintings…. were not good. Then they were kind of ok. Then I started actually being happy with them, and other people started liking them too! Now here we are.
Not a Robot
Each painting is drawn by hand. No AI slop here. I start with pencil drawings then put the line work in with black ink then watercolor paint the rest.
